Unique First Anniversary Gift Ideas

Gift

It has been said that it is the thought of giving that counts, however it is the thought behind the Gift that counts even more. The first year's anniversary Gift is traditionally paper or plastic. To some, this might remind you of grocery shopping. "Would you like paper or plastic today?" If you wanted to go a more modern route you could give a clock as a Gift. Here are a few more interesting and creative anniversary gift ideas for your first year anniversary.

If you'd like to go with the paper idea you could give tickets to his/her favorite concert, the ballet, a favorite sporting event, or for a weekend getaway. If art is important to you, or your spouse, a nice portrait of the two of you would be a really great gift. If you'd like to give something really special your gift could be hand crafted. A scrapbook of your first year married, a poem printed with a photo of the two of you, or even just a "Happy Anniversary" card would be a very meaningful gift. A copy of your spouse's favorite book would make a sweet gift too. You might also think about a puzzle made from a photo of the two of you, stationary with your monogram, or a calendar that includes photos of you.

Some great plastic gifts could be a gift card to a day spa, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, or for a nice manicure and pedicure. If you wanted to have a nice romantic dinner you could sip champagne from plastic champagne glasses and serve dinner on plastic plates with plastic dinnerware. Yes, this might be cheesy but it could be fun and something you two will never forget.

Clocks are considered a more modern gift. When giving a clock you don't have to just give a clock. A nice watch with an engraving would be nice. You could also give a mantel clock that could be seen everyday in your living room. If you are handy and have time to make things you could make a clock for your spouse. If your spouse is a huge fan or highly interested in a certain sport, topic or comic book hero you could give a clock that has the same theme.

Just remember when it comes time to giving your first year's anniversary gift don't think "Ok it has to be paper, plastic or clockshmm." Think of this as a chance to be creative, show your spouse how much you love and appreciate him or her. Think outside the box. Make a flower bouquet out of paper that includes your spouse's favorite color or are in the shape of the same flowers she carried on your wedding day. You could also give a bouquet of plastic flowers.

Should I become a lawyer, an army officer or a software engineer?
I'm 24. I finished highschool in Germany and went travelling. I've spent my time from leaving school until now working in IT and travelling. Now I'm 24. I realise that whilst I didn't want to go university back then (didn't feel ready). I want to now in order to proceed with a profession. When I was as young as 7 I wanted to be a lawyer, the idea excited me and I enjoy the shows about it, even when my friends who are now practicing tell me it is good fun but difficult. A part of me wants to go do that. However I have been offered a place with the military as an officer but I have no degree. I can't put it off and go to university or I will be too old to attend the officer training when I am finished. Further to this, I have always been very good in the IT industry. I enjoy knowing that I am good at it, and that I know a lot in the industry. I'd like to one day set up my own software business. However I only know a couple of programming languages and would also like to go back and be a software engineer. So that is where I am - I have applied to university for law and software engineering. I have been offered a place in both - and have to choose between those and the military. I want to do it all. But I don't know what to do. Should I pick the childhood desire? Should I pick the computing that I'm naturally gifted in, and know I could go very far in? Or should I try the military - I know it'll be a lot of fun and commanding men I would get some amazing life experiences out of it. I've worked hard to get a place so it makes sense to go. But now that all three of these things are possible, I'm not sure what the hell to do? I know it'll be wise to go to university, I guess I can do that whilst in the military. However I also know I won't be in the military more than 12 years. So I will need something to fall back on when I leave service, or god forbid take an injury and leave prematurely.

At the end of the chapter, Francis wonders if it is ?a special sin to lie to a nun? (page 123). How is what he says to her a lie? Chapter 16 pg 124 1. Read the first two pages of the chapter. In what ways has Nicole changed? 2. When Francis says he has to go, he says it is ?My gift to her? (page 131). What do you think he means? What does it reveal about both of them? 3. Read from ?She nods, almost eagerly? (page 131) to the end of the chapter. What has changed between Francis and Nicole, and what has stayed the same? Chapter 17 pg 133 1. In the first two paragraphs, how does the writer remind you of the story that has gone before? 2. Who does Francis think are the ?real heroes? (page 134)? Who are not the ?real heroes?, do you think? 3. At the end of the novel, Francis lists all the things he might do. What do you think he will do? Why? ( pg 134-135) any help would be appreciated:)

I need help finding a new best friend?
My best friend got all knew friends and they're nice and she obviously can have more friends than just me. But, the only time she hangs out with me or texts me or calls me is occasionally on the weekends when none of her new friends can hang out or when she needs something. I've put a lot into our friendship like going all out for gifts (both homemade and store bought) for her birthday and Christmas. And I put up with her bossing me around and taking advantage of me for 2 years. She treats me like crap. I let her borrow SO many things, for instance a pair of pants, and she doesn't return them until 2-4 months later and her mom makes her come drop them off. When she last asked me to borrow something I told her no and she started lashing out on me, saying I was her best friend so i should let her borrow things. She always acts way cooler and older than she really is and acts like she's embarrassed to be around me. So I just texted her asking a simple question and she started (once again) lashing out on me. I have asked her to be nicer and more considerate in the past, but she hasn't changed except for getting worse. My last detail before I get to the point..SHE LIES TO ME CONSTANTLY. So..what do you guys think?? And how do I find a new best friend? BTW I'm shy.. Thanks in advance.((:
